Beautiful Disaster is an album forged from the personal thoughts and experiences of Piper McKinnon, a female solo artist living and breathing her passions. Through compelling lyrics and melodies, McKinnon shares her interest and study of world history and the forces that shape our disheveling moral compass. The album’s 12 carefully chosen songs feature creative vocal multi-layering and exotic instrumentation, as well as important contributions from more popular instruments such as electric guitars, drums, and vintage synthesizers, intended to lend integrity and modernity to the work. It will be produced by multi-Grammy nominee Ron Thaler, and feature many of Vancouver’s finest and most visible instrumentalists.
Beautiful Disaster will resonate with a great number of listeners, across many demographic and geographic boundaries. Initially finding success and solid sales through McKinnon’s national and international grassroots following (nearly 100,000 myspace friends for instance), the album will thereafter continue evolving and widening its scope as a function of the significant investment planned to be made in publicity, media and radio promotion, as well as the touring initiatives currently being organized in support of the album.
